Held with care, guided with intention.
Therapy is a space to slow down and begin listening more closely to yourself. Often people arrive feeling unsettled, emotionally stretched or quietly exhausted from carrying things alone. You may not have clear words yet - perhaps only a sense that things aren’t working anymore. My role is to offer a steady, thoughtful space where we can make sense of what you’re experiencing, understand how you got here and work toward something that feels more grounded and sustainable.
About me
Hello!
My name is Daniella and I am an HPCSA registered Clinical Psychologist with training and experience across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
I currently run a small private practice based in Gardens, Cape Town where I work with adolescents, adults and couples who are looking for a deeper understanding of themselves and their inner worlds.
My approach is both reflective and active. Therapy is not about fixing you, but about developing awareness, emotional capacity and choice. During sessions with me, we will spend time exploring past experiences and the ways they continue to shape how you relate to yourself and others, while also building practical skills to help you navigate these challenges more effectively. At times this involves noticing and sitting with difficult emotions. At other times it means being challenged, supported to think differently or encouraged to step outside of familiar patterns.
I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. Feeling safe, understood and respected in the room allows for meaningful progress in therapy. I aim to be present, engaged and human - offering insight where helpful, asking thoughtful questions and collaborating with you. We move at a pace that feels manageable and remain curious about what emerges. I encourage feedback and view therapy as something we shape together, responding to what you need as you grow and change.
Therapeutic modalities and specialities
My work is informed by a psychodynamic lens, alongside cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and dialectical-behavioural (DBT) approaches. This allows us to explore deeper emotional patterns and unconscious processes while also developing practical tools for change. Different approaches are integrated thoughtfully and tailored to each individual - there is no one size fits all model here.
I offer both individual and couples therapy to adolescents and adults facing a wide range of difficulties. People often come to therapy during periods of transition, emotional instability, relational difficulty or when longstanding ways of coping no longer feel helpful. You do not need to be in crisis to begin.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to providing a respectful, inclusive therapeutic space.
Specific areas of specialty include;
addiction and substance abuse
anxiety disorders
depression, bipolar and other mood disorders
personality disorders
eating disorders
emotional dysregulation
grief and bereavement
life transitions and stressors
self-esteem
self harm and suicidal ideation
obsessive compulsive disorder
